The Equine Angels Program has been established help horses in need by
assisting rescue organizations
in their mission of helping horses. Horses come from auctions, kill buyers,
brokers, have been abandoned, and some come from owners that no longer
want them or can no longer care for them. Normally, a
rescue organization has to pay to get the horse out of its desperate situation and
then pay to transport the horse to their location. This alone is
costly. These horses have likely been
neglected and/or abused and once they are safe, they are in dire need of
vet, farrier, and dental care which is also costly. Then come
the expenses that come with every horse; feed, supplements, wormers, etc.
These horses need, and deserve, caring people to help them. The
Equine Angels Program is an effective way for you to do this.
Maybe you would like a horse of your own but do not have the
facilities, time, or money necessary to own your own horse. This
program gives you the opportunity to become involved in a
particular horses' life and have a direct impact on the horse.
You only need to commit your heart to one, or more, of these horses in
need or
to a rescue.
Won't you please consider being an equine angel? There is no gift too big or
too small.
Please take the time to visit each homepage of the rescues listed on
the "Participants" page of this website. There are many horses
at the rescue organizations that could use an angel.

Here's the way the program works.
-
A person signs up with
a rescue organization to become an angel to a horse in
need.
-
Each month an angel sends a gift or monetary donation to their
horse or rescue.
-
At the end of each month the
rescue organization will send updated information about each horse
to their angel.
-
When a horse is adopted
out, the rescue organization will contact the angel of that horse to
let them know their horse had found a home. The person can then pick another horse at
that rescue, or any of the participating rescues, to angel, if they
so choose.
-
Whether you angel a
horse for a month, 3 months, or even longer - it truly does help the
rescue organizations to help the horses.
